Patek Philippe delivered a one-two punch for its fans last week: a 7% price hike across its catalog, and the discontinuation of several models. While this is undoubtedly in preparation for Watches & Wonders 2024 where we’ll see a fresh batch of new Patek Philippe join the catalog, there were a few discontinued Patek Philippe watches that came as a surprise. Here’s a rundown of all 16 references that Patek Philippe has discontinued from its collection in 2024.
Discontinued Patek Philippe Nautilus Watches
Patek Philippe discontinued five Nautilus references including moon phase and chronograph models.
Nautilus Moonphase 5712G-001 and 5712R-001
The white gold Nautilus Moonphase 5712G-001 and rose gold Nautilus Moonphase 5712G-001 were discontinued, both of which had been part of the collection since 2006. These are the leather strap variants of the Nautilus Moonphase reference 5712.
The bracelet versions (the steel ref. 5712/1A and rose gold ref. 5712/1R-001) are still in production — for now.

Nautilus Chronograph 5980R-001, 5980/1R-001, and 5980/1AR-001
With the discontinuation of the three remaining Nautilus Chronograph models, Patek Philippe has ceased the production of the entire 5980 reference. The last three Nautilus Chronograph watches that were dropped from the catalog were the rose gold 5980R-001 with a leather strap, the full rose gold 5980/1R-001 with an integrated bracelet, and the two-tone steel and rose gold 5980/1AR-001 with an integrated bracelet.

Discontinued Patek Philippe Aquanaut Watches
Patek Philippe’s other sports watch collection also had some models pulled. Three Aquanaut references got the axe, including two gem-set ladies’ models and one steel men’s variant.
Aquanaut Travel Time 5164A-001
The fan-favorite Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time in stainless steel, formally known as the reference 5164A-001, is no longer being made. This model was first introduced in 2011 and many considered it the coolest Aquanaut thanks in large part to the practical dual-time functionality. While the steel variant has been discontinued, the rose gold Aquanaut 5164R-001 remains in the catalog.
Aquanaut Luce Haute Joaillerie 5062/450R-001
Introduced in 2017 during the collection’s 20th anniversary, the High Jewelry Aquanaut 5062/450R-001 is an ultra-luxe version dripping 303 brilliant- and baguette-cut diamonds spread across its case, dial, bezel, and clasp. While this 38.8mm version has been discontinued, Patek has kept the smaller (and less-diamond-embellished) Aquanaut 5072R-001 in the lineup for the time being.
Aquanaut Luce Travel Time 5269/200R
Patek Philippe did, however, discontinue another short-lived Aquanaut Luce: the quartz-powered 5269/200R Travel Time model. This was the first Aquanaut Luce (Luce, the Italian word for “light”, is the name given to ladies’ Aquanaut models with diamond bezels) and we have a feeling it won’t be the last.

Discontinued Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Watches
Patek’s fleet of pilot-style watches gets smaller as two models are taken out of production.
Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 7234R-001 and 7234G-001
In 2018, Patek Philippe released a mid-size version of its Pilot Travel Time Calatrava watch in the form of the reference 7234R-001, which had a 37.5mm rose gold case. A white gold version, the 7234G-001, was unveiled two years later in 2020. Patek has now discontinued these mid-sized Pilot Travel Time Calatrava watches, leaving only the larger 42mm versions (ref. 5524R and 5524G) in production.
Discontinued Patek Philippe Complicated Watches
Patek Philippe has trimmed down its selection of complicated watches by eliminating a handful of references including a world time model and a few annual calendar timepieces.
World Time 5230P-001
Although it’s only been in production for less than two years, Patek has put an end to the World Time ref. 5230P-001. The platinum model with a blue guillochĂ© dial was launched at Watches & Wonders 2022. Funny enough, the rose gold 5230R-012 and white gold 5230G-014 World Time watches were discontinued a few months before the introduction of the platinum variant. So, now that the short-lived platinum World Time 5230 is gone, we have to say goodbye to the entire reference family.

Annual Calendar 5147G-001
Featuring a white gold case, blue lacquer dial, and a diamond-set bezel, the Annual Calendar 5147G-001 is the bejeweled version of the classic Patek Annual Calendar 5146, both of which debuted in 2005. While the 5147G outlived the non-diamond ref. 5146 by a few years (the 5146 was let go in 2021) Patek has now officially discontinued it.

Annual Calendar 5396R-015 and 5396G-011
The Annual Calendar ref. 5396 was first introduced in 2006 and it was the first time the Calatrava case was paired with the annual calendar complication (a Patek Philippe invention). Patek has made rose gold versions (5396R) and white gold versions (5396G) of the watch, and both variants have had various dial styles over the years.
For 2024, Patek Philippe has announced the discontinuation of the rose gold 5396R-015 with a blue dial and baguette-diamond hour markers as well as the white gold 5396G-011 with a silvery opaline dial.
Side note, the rose gold 5396R-011 with a silvery opaline dial is the only one left of the reference family that remains in production.
Discontinued Patek Philippe Grand Complication Watches
As far as we can tell, only one Patek Philippe Grand Complication got axed in 2024.
Perpetual Calendar with Retrograde Hand 5160/500G-001
Introduced at Baselworld 2010, the reference 5160 was a fully hand-engraved version of the Perpetual Calendar with Retrograde Hand ref. 5159. Rare handicrafts have always been an integral part of Patek’s philosophy and the ref. 5160 perfectly illustrates that.
There have been several versions of the 5160 over the years but now with the discontinuation of the Perpetual Calendar with Retrograde Hand 5160/500G-001, the 5160 reference has disappeared entirely from the current collection.

Discontinued Patek Philippe Twenty~4 Watch
The ladies’ Twenty~4 collection also lost just one reference in 2024.
Twenty~4 Automatic 7300/1200R-011
The Twenty~4 Automatic ref. 7300/1200R-011 made its debut in 2021 as a rose gold model with a gilded rose-gold sunburst dial and diamond-set bezel. Three short years later, Patek Philippe has ceased production of this particular version but not to worry, there are plenty of automatic Twenty~4 watches left in the current range.
Patek Philippe’s Run-Out List 2024
That wraps up the Patek Philippe run-out list for 2024 with all the brand’s discontinued models. There are 16 references in total being dropped from Patek’s catalog this year, some short-lived and some that have been in production for a very long time. If you had your eye on one of these above watches, the only place to source them now is the grey market.
Stay tuned for our coverage of Watches & Wonders 2024 where we’ll outline all the new Patek Philippe watches released in the spring.
